Obituary for August William Emil Frech


August William Emil Frech, 90, of Dallas, Georgia died peacefully March 21, 2018 at Wellstar Tranquility in Austell. He was born in Newark, New Jersey September 25, 1927 to August and Mary Kraemer Frech. He was a veteran of the US Navy 1945 -48 and served on ships in the areas of China and Japan. He spent 35 years living in or near Allentown, Pennsylvania where he raised his family and worked at Western Electric until it became AT&T. He transferred with AT&T to Orlando, Florida from where he retired in 1985 with 35 years of service.
Mr. Frech is survived by his wife, Ida, four sons Kevin of Baker City, Oregon, Ian of Durango, Colorado, Marshall of Boulder, Colorado, and Bennett (Donna) of Lake Oswego, Oregon and his favorite daughter, Lisa Jo of Hillsboro, Oregon. He had two grandchildren, Ethan and Ella of Lake Oswego, Oregon. Also surviving is one sister, Mildred Eichinger of Great Falls, Virginia and several nieces and nephews. One son, Karl, predeceased him
Mr. Frech and his family were/are avid outdoors people with interests in hiking, hunting, skiing, and travel. He loved socializing with his neighbors and with fellow church members and was rarely seen without a smile and the ability to make one laugh.
A memorial service will be held at Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, Acworth, GA on Saturday, April 7 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held before the service starting at 1:00 PM. Instead of flowers, please make donations to the Kenya Connection Kids ministry at Mars Hill Presbyterian Church, mhchurch.com
